On March 3, ENGIE Vianeo inaugurated two 300 kW ultra-fast charging stations at the Coo Stavelot site in Belgium. This new infrastructure strengthens the electric charging network in Wallonia, a region where the development of fast charging is a key challenge to support the growth of electric vehicles.
A strategic location at the heart of a highly frequented site
Located near the Coo waterfalls, the train station, the N633 road, and the main tourist routes of Stavelot, the station benefits from a particularly strategic location. Since opening, it has already recorded more than 5,000 charging sessions.
Ultra-fast chargers powered by green electricity
The new installations include:
- two 300 kW ultra-fast charging stations (4 charging points),
- charging up to 80% in less than 30 minutes,
- as little as 15 minutes for vehicles equipped with an 800V battery,
- a supply of renewable electricity produced locally thanks to photovoltaic panels.
They complement the five 11 kW charging points already available on site.
A key milestone for the charging network in Wallonia
The inauguration took place in the presence of François Desquesnes, Vice-President of the Walloon Government and Minister of Mobility, highlighting the strategic importance of this station, which is integrated into an energy hub combining renewable production, flexibility, and electric mobility.
ENGIE Vianeo currently operates nearly 11,000 charging points across Europe, including around 7,000 in Belgium. The development of stations like Coo helps rebalance the national charging network and provide high-performance charging that is accessible and well-suited to user needs.
